Steve Pritchard is an Iron Edge sponsored athlete. A power lifter, he has dominated local competition for years. His maximum bench press is over 300 kilograms and he squats over 330. To put that in perspective, people in commercial gyms who can shift half those weights have to be considered exceptionally strong.
I was reading one of his articles on the Iron Edge blog recently, and he makes the clear-eyed point that ‘pain can affect your perception of difficulty.’
Now that’s a koan if ever I’ve heard one.
