Ernest Borgnine RIP

Ernest Borgnine, who co-starred alongside William Holden in Peckinpah’s 1969 masterpiece, The Wild Bunch, has died of kidney failure, aged 95.

Anthony ‘The Hitman’ Vella was one of the outstanding fighters of early Australian Muay Thai. He had twenty fights for nineteen wins; his only loss coming via injury while fighting Paul ‘The Hurricane’ Briggs for a super-middleweight world title. Tramsurance

Tramsurance, the brain child of University of Melbourne architecture student Tom Pisel, is a public fund to compensate fare evaders when they are stung for travelling without a ticket.

Needless to say, it is not designed to encourage fare evasion; rather, it is intended as a protest against the woeful state of public transport in Victoria. Continue reading
