I found a link on Facebook to Neil Patrick Harris doing a song-and-dance number to open the Tony Awards in New York. It was vaunted as the ‘best awards ceremony opener ever’. Conspicuously, it also featured a brief cameo from Iron Mike himself. Continue reading

Gokhan Saki’s Nike Ad

This Nike ad features Dutch-Turkish kickboxer, Gokhan Saki.

He must be the first kickboxer ever to make it to a Nike ad. It’s proof of how good he is and how big a sport kickboxing is in Turkey.

I am proud to say I knew him when.

To my considerable delight, Last Exit to Brooklyn has been reissued as a cheapo Penguin classic. To my considerable surprise, it has been classified amongst the ‘Classic Crime’ series.
