Les Lothringer, eminiently quotable member of the gym at which I work, recently suggested that it is better to focus on ‘Kissing pretty girls, rather than beating up ugly men.’ I liked this, and threatened to make note of it on my blog. Happily, he then emailed me some dietary advice which I think is well suited to general posterity. I hope you will enjoy the following fruits of Mr Lothringer’s wisdom. Continue reading

International Kickboxer Magazine Vol.19 No.1
For a Thai boxer, Eugene’s Ekkelboom’s career started relatively late. It is, however, studded with impressive highlights. He can also lay claim to a remarkable piece of trivia; the only bone he has ever broken is his nose. Continue reading
Commentator
Posted in Journalism, Reading with tags e.e. cummings, lifestyle trainers on March 21, 2011 by Jarrod BoyleI attended the ‘Lifestyle Trainers’ exhibition at Birrarung Marr on the banks of the Yarra yesterday. It was an exhibition to publicise the health and fitness website I have been writing for as an ‘expert commentator’. It tickles my ego to be billed as a commentator, probably because the implication is that I am currently paid to give my opinion. “Right leg hospital; left leg cemetery.”
Mirko Filipovic has been a member of the Croatian anti-terrorist police unit, a top-tier K1 heavyweight and then, a successful transitioner into Pride, the toughest of MMA fighting organisations. He was also a member of Croatian parliament from 2003 through to 2007.
What a man.
